Unity in Diversity

Diversity

Toronto is one of the most diverse cities in the world. One obvious thing anyone can notice is that the name boards of each stores. The language that was written on the board changes from place to place when you drive along the streets of Toronto and suburbs. It changes from Arabic to Gujarati or from Tamil to Greek. The Little Italy, China town are the well known names for the small areas of the Toronto, and there are lots of places without specific names but condensed with people of same community. We can hear many different languages and different accents of English when just walking through a mall. It’s simply amazing.

Nowadays we hear a lot about integrating into the main stream, and I don’t think it will ever happen. There are so many issues that nobody wants to talk about raised from these differences. Will there be a time people look at different community and take them as integral part of their own?. In work places and schools , it is very obvious to see people of same community gather together and help each other.

In this article the author discuss about this issue and a possible solution.Start a diversity book club

The wave of the future is not the conquest of the world by a single dogmatic creed but the liberation of the diverse energies of free nations and free men.
