This is an excellent article because it takes into account how complicated people and langauge can be. When I taught advanced ESL to adults at CSU, I was patient. Their ability to endure English’s myriad of nuances inspired me to be better educator as well as person.
A deep regard for education is so essential. As an educator, I am quite concerned when I dealt with a large urban district that let red tape and indifference on the part of some members of the administration prevent them from sharing excellent programs with the ESL students and native speakers who needed literacy help.
We have to return to learning being challening but ever so worthwhile.
